Fitness is at the center of what we do.
To Tilla Fit, fitness isn’t optional.
It’s something that every person needs.
Over the past year, we shared 52 reasons WHY people need fitness.
Now we shift to the next question.
HOW do you start?
HOW do you stay consistent?
HOW do you build a lifestyle that lasts?
HOW do you get results?
Over the next 52 weeks, we’ll answer those questions.
Here is week 7 of 52 on HOW to approach fitness.
“Your Environment Shapes Your Habits”
By now, you’ve started building your foundation.
You’ve decided to become someone who exercises.
You’ve chosen where you’re going to work out.
You’ve started making better nutrition choices.
Now it’s time to make those habits last.
The easiest way to stay consistent isn’t by having more willpower.
It’s by creating an environment that supports your goals.
Optimize Your Home
Your home should make healthy choices easy.
Keep nutritious foods visible and easy to grab.
Limit the foods that constantly tempt you. If they aren’t in the house, they can’t become a late-night snack.
Create a bedroom that promotes quality sleep.
Keep it cool, dark, and free from distractions.
Recovery starts long before your alarm goes off.
If you work out at home—or occasionally miss the gym—set aside a small area where you can move, stretch, or exercise.
It doesn’t have to be fancy.
It just needs to remove excuses.
Lay your workout clothes out the night before.
Keep a water bottle nearby.
The easier you make healthy decisions, the more often you’ll make them.
Optimize Your Schedule
Your calendar is just as important as your home.
One of the best habits you can build is planning tomorrow before today ends.
Spend five minutes each evening writing out your day.
When are you working?
When are you eating?
When are you exercising?
When are you sleeping?
Schedule time to take care of yourself before someone else fills your calendar for you.
If it isn’t planned, it’s usually the first thing to disappear.
The Bottom Line
You don’t rise to the level of your motivation.
You rise to the level of your environment.
Build a home that supports healthy choices.
Build a schedule that protects your priorities.
When your environment works with you instead of against you, consistency becomes much easier.
This Week’s Challenge:
Choose three things you can change in your environment this week.
Maybe it’s cleaning out the pantry.
Maybe it’s putting your workouts on your calendar.
Maybe it’s laying your gym clothes out each night.
Small changes to your environment create big changes in your habits.
