Massage Therapy
How Massage Helps You Become The Better You!
Regular massage sessions can help bring you to a parasympathetic state (rest and digest), reduce muscle tension, and relieve chronic pain. Over time, it promotes relaxation, better posture, and overall well-being, while boosting circulation and supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
The calm massage environment helps lower levels of the stress hormone (cortisol), while increasing the production of endorphins, the body’s natural mood enhancers. Regular massages can promote a sense of calm and well-being, making it easier to cope with daily stresses. Additionally, massage encourages mindfulness, allowing you to focus on the present moment and disconnect from mental clutter.
Massage helps reduce muscle soreness by increasing blood flow to the affected areas, which aids in the removal of metabolic waste products and promotes the delivery of oxygen and nutrients needed for healing. The pressure applied during massage also relaxes tight muscles, and relieves tension. This combination of enhanced circulation and muscle relaxation can help reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and speed up the recovery process after exercise or injury.
Massage can help improve flexibility by relieving muscle tension and breaking up scar tissue. It improves blood flow, which helps your muscles relax and stretch more easily. Regular massages can make your muscles become more elastic, giving you a better range of motion and making it feel easier to move. This can help you stay flexible, reduce the chance of injury, and make activities like exercise feel more comfortable.
Sports Or Swedish Massage?
So what’s the difference between a Sports and Swedish massage? A Sports Massage is designed to enhance your physical performance. This is done by addressing nagging or injured areas, improving flexibility, and reducing soreness to recover faster. Generally this type of massage will focus on one area more so then another.
While on the other hand, a Swedish massage will more so focus on the relaxing and long term health benefits associated with massage.
A blend of both practices can be found depending on what you’re looking for!
