Fitness is at the center of what we do.
To Tilla Fit, fitness isn’t optional.
It’s something that every person needs.
And this isn’t a plug for Tilla Fit, because we aren’t for everyone.
Regardless if you work out with us, or at any other gym in the area, we want you working out.
This is our effort to show the community why fitness is a priority.
Here is reason number 33 of 52 for why we need fitness, and what it means to us.
Live Free: Protecting Your Mind
When we first talked about what we wanted this gym to stand for, “Live Free” kept coming back up. Not as a catchy phrase, but as a standard for the kind of life we want for ourselves and for our community.
Freedom isn’t just about what you are allowed to do.
It’s about what you are capable of doing.
And one of the most overlooked freedoms we have is the ability to clearly see, understand, and engage with the world around us as we age.
Being able to recognize the faces of your family. Following conversations at the dinner table. Remembering where you are, why you are there, and what brings you joy. Being able to make your own decisions, live independently, and stay connected to the people and places you love.
That is living free.
Dementia slowly takes that freedom away.
What many people do not realize is that exercise is one of the most scientifically proven tools we have to reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia as we age.
Regular physical activity increases blood flow to the brain, improves oxygen delivery, and supports the growth and maintenance of neural connections. Strength training and cardiovascular exercise have both been shown to improve memory, attention, and overall brain health. Movement helps regulate blood sugar, reduce inflammation, and improve sleep, all of which play a massive role in long term brain function.
This is not about adding years to your life.
It is about adding life to your years.
Living free means staying mentally present for the moments that matter. Watching your kids grow up and actually remembering it. Having conversations without confusion. Traveling without fear. Waking up each day confident in your ability to navigate the world.
Fitness is the tool that protects that freedom.
Live free.
