Why So Intense?!

Intensity

The standard gym-goer often finds themselves on a machine, performing 4 sets of 8 reps of back squats. They might use a moderate weight, complete their sets with ease, and move on. If cardio is part of the routine, it’s typically 20–30 minutes on a stair master or treadmill at a steady pace.

If this sounds like you, don’t worry—you’re still getting benefits! But if you want to maximize your time and results, it’s time to add one crucial element: INTENSITY.

(If you haven’t already, check out our post “Fitness Is Health: Why Tilla Fit Believes In Bootcamp Training” to understand the foundation of what we do.)

At Tilla Fit, our driving force is seeing people improve their fitness metrics. If our members run faster, lift heavier, or move their body weight more effectively now than they did before, we know we’re succeeding. And when fitness improves, health metrics often improve alongside it. The fastest way to achieve these gains? You guessed it—intensity.

If you’ve attended a Tilla Fit class, you’ve witnessed this intensity firsthand. The group environment, combined with carefully designed workouts performed for time or maximum repetitions, motivates athletes to push their limits.

Why do we focus on intensity? Because it creates positive responses in your body. When you challenge your body to do things it hasn’t done before, it adapts to protect you from those stresses. The result? Increased muscle mass, improved cardiovascular health, and noticeable changes in body composition.

It’s important to note that intensity is personal. What feels intense for one person might be manageable for another. The key is pushing toward your individual peak effort. When you do that consistently, the results will follow.

So, no matter what type of training you’re doing, don’t settle for just going through the motions. Add intensity to your workouts to maximize your results and take your fitness to the next level
